Nick Anderson Agrees With The Braves
2 years agoThe Atlanta Braves and right-handed reliever Nick Anderson agreed to a major-league contract on Friday, according to sources. The 32-year-old will play on a split deal that will pay $875,000 if he's in the big leagues and $180,000 if he's in the minors in 2023. Anderson cleared outright waivers with the Tampa Bay Rays to become a free agent on Thursday, and he quickly latched on with the Braves. He's made just six major-league appearances in the last two years due to injuries, but he's proven that he can be a high-leverage bullpen arm when healthy. Anderson has a career 2.89 ERA (2.57 FIP), a 0.96 WHIP, eight saves and 137 strikeouts in 87 1/3 innings over three MLB seasons to this point.
