Nick Ahmed Designated For Assignment
1 year agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks have designated shortstop Nick Ahmed for assignment on Wednesday to make room on the roster for the newly promoted Jordan Lawlar. The 33-year-old has spent his entire 10-year career in Arizona, where he posted a .234/.288/.376 slash line with 70 bombs and 41 steals. Ahmed appeared in only 72 games this season, as he produced an ugly .212 average with two homers, 14 runs, 17 RBI, and five stolen bases. The two-time Gold Glove award winner isn't really known for his bat, and fantasy managers should continue to leave him on the waiver wire, even if he gets a shot with another club.
