Nicholas Castellanos Goes 3-For-4 With Homer
6 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Nicholas Castellanos had himself a productive fantasy day in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins. He finished 3-for-4 with a two-run shot in the first inning to get the scoring started for the Tigers. Castellanos has been a relative disappointment in the early going, slashing .278/.331/.465 with just three home runs, 12 RBI, 23 runs scored, and one stolen base. His averages and counting stats are concerning, while his 0.29 BB/K, .164 ISO, and .347 BABIP also qualify as red flags. However, he ranks above league average in Statcast's hard hit percentage, xwOBA, and xSLG, and should be expected to eclipse the 20-homer mark for the third straight year. He remains a hold in all formats.
