New York Jets Defense Not Worth Rostering Past Week One
5 years agoIn the third preseason game of the year - the so-called "dress rehearsal" - the New York Jets Defense showed just what kind of unit they're setting up to be in 2019, with Drew Brees and the Saints going up 10-0 after two possessions. New York is going to give up big plays all year, given the talent and health situations that they currently have in the defensive backfield and at linebacker. Veteran cornerback (and 2018 bust) Trumaine Johnson is still out with a hamstring injury and the Jets lost linebacker Avery Williamson to a torn ACL and Brandon Copeland is out for the first four games for a PED-violation. In theory, the Jets are streamable against Buffalo in the season's kickoff but are certainly droppable after that with New York facing an absolutely brutal early schedule. First, they get Cleveland and New England before getting an early bye in Week four. Their next three games are then against Philadelphia, Dallas, and New England again. No matter what your buddy the Jets fan says, do not roster this defense.
