3 years agoNew York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes Jr. pitched well in Friday's win over the Orioles despite not factoring into the decision. Cortes tossed 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and two walks while fanning seven batters. The lefty generated 13 whiffs, 11 of them coming on his fastball-slider combo, punching out hitters five times via the heater. Cortes has been unlucky in the run support department but has been a fine fantasy pitcher, posting a 2.67 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 71 strikeouts in 67 1/3 innings of work. Cortes should continue to provide fantasy managers with strong ratios.--Tim Capurso
