3 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz hasn't been producing his usual power numbers lately. He has hit just two home runs since May 1 despite starting most games since then. Cruz got off to a strong start to the year, hitting seven home runs in April. All of his underlying metrics look like the type of Cruz numbers we're used to seeing. His current 53.4% hard-hit rate is actually a career-best clip and it ranks in the top 5% of the league. He also ranks in the 99th percentile in max exit velocity (116.6 mph).
