Nelson Cruz Not In Opening Day Lineup
4 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz will be on the bench for Opening Day against the Brewers. Since the Twins are playing in a National League park, there's no designated hitter, meaning fantasy managers might not be able to slot Cruz into their lineups until Monday's game against the Tigers. The 40-year-old slugger has made all 194 career starts with the Twins as their designated hitter, as he has yet to play an inning in the field for Minnesota. Cruz owns a career .976 OPS in 56 career games at Comerica Park in Detroit- his highest OPS in any of the four opposing AL Central ballparks- along with 17 long-balls.
