Nelson Cruz Launches 31st Home Run On Sunday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, one walk, and an additional run scored during Sunday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Detroit Tigers. The Boomstick put the Rays on the board with a solo shot off Jose Urena in the fourth inning. He extended his hitting streak to nine games and is hitting a robust .391 (16-for-41) with five home runs during that span. Overall, Cruz is slashing .278/.347/.530 with 31 home runs, 83 RBI, 76 runs scored, and three stolen bases across 521 plate appearances in 2021. Fantasy managers should continue to start Cruz while he's wielding a hot bat right in time for the fantasy baseball playoffs.
