Nelson Cruz Homers In Return To Minnesota
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs, and a walk during a 10-4 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Friday. The 41-year-old returned to Minnesota for the first time since being traded to Tampa Bay on July 22 and promptly homered in the third inning off of Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda. The seven-time All-Star has slashed .206/.270/.471 with five homers, 11 RBI, and 11 runs through 68 at-bats with his new club. On the season, Cruz has 24 HR, 61 RBI, 55 runs, and three stolen bases with a .277/.353/.525 line over 364 at-bats. While the lack of position flexibility dings his value, the timeless Cruz is heading towards his eighth season with 30 or more homers.
