Nelson Cruz Crushes Three-Run Home Run Wednesday
4 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in his first Grapefruit League action against the Red Sox on Wednesday. Cruz hammered a two-seam fastball up in the zone over the wall in left field for his first- and very loud- hit of the spring. The home run was absolutely crushed, as it registered an exit velocity of 108.6 MPH, with Cruz also making a loud 103.1 MPH out in the game. It was a great start for the 40-year-old slugger, who appears poised to place in the top-seven percent of sluggers in barrel rate for the seventh straight year. While Cruz should be expected to decline a bit, he should still be able to do more than enough in four categories to warrant picking him at his 86 ADP.
