The NHL’s department of player safety has handed Nazem Kadri a three-game suspension for his boarding of Boston Bruins Tommy Wingels in Game 1. Kadri was given a five-minute major and game misconduct on the play, and a suspension is not surprising, but three games is sending quite a message. Kardi’s absence will be a huge loss to the Maple Leafs lineup; it appears that Patrick Marleau practiced in his place centering the second line. Play Marleau as you usually would.--Kevin Acorn
