Nats-Yankees, Dodgers-Giants To Kick Off 2020 Season
4 years agoMajor League Baseball unveiled the 2020 regular season schedule on Monday night, and it will feature a two-game Opening Night on Thursday, July 23. The Washington Nationals will host the New York Yankees at 7:08 p.m. ET in a matchup featuring right-hander Gerrit Cole making his Yankees debut about three-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer of the Nationals. The Los Angeles Dodgers will start their quest for an eighth straight National League West title against their fierce rivals, the San Francisco Giants, at Dodger Stadium at 10:08 p.m. ET. The 2020 season has been shortened to 60 games per team due to the coronavirus pandemic. MLB-wide action will begin on Friday, July 24. Each team's schedule includes 40 games against opponents within their division, plus 20 interleague games spread among those from the opposite league's corresponding geographical division.
