Nathan MacKinnon Pots Goal In Wednesday's Win
5 years agoColorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon recorded the game-winning goal as his team banked a 4-1 road win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. The 24-year-old beat Hawks goaltender Corey Crawford on his blocker side with a wicked wrist shot in the second period - giving his team the only lead needed in the game. MacKinnon ended up finishing the night with a plus-three rating and he also added five shots and two hits for good measure. Despite the injury bug hitting Colorado hard for much of the campaign, the Nova Scotia native continues to prove that he can produce big numbers regardless of who plays alongside him. With 52 points (21 goals, 31 assists), a plus-nine rating, 17 power-play points and 162 shots on goal in 34 games, MacKinnon is easily a top-five fantasy asset and has a legitimate opportunity to take home his first Hart Trophy this season.
