Nathan MacKinnon Lights Lamp Twice In Win
5 years agoColorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon recorded two goals and a pair of assists as his team defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-0 on Tuesday. In addition to figuring into all four Avalanche goals, the 24-year-old also posted a power-play point, a plus-three rating, six shots and five hits in 20:40 of ice time in the contest. While many expected MacKinnon's production to falter after losing both of his linemates (Gabriel Landeskog & Mikko Rantanen) to long-term injury, the team captain has instead rattled off 11 points (five goals, six assists) in seven games in their absence. With 26 points in 18 games thus far, MacKinnon looks primed to eclipse the 100-point mark for the first time in his career in 2019-2020. The electrifying center will look to come up big yet again in Edmonton on Thursday.
