Nathan Eovaldi Throws Short Bullpen Wednesday
1 year agoTexas Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (forearm) threw a short 15-20-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday. The right-hander last appeared on July 18, when he threw six scoreless innings in a start against the Rays and recently reported he was pain-free after throwing from 75 feet over the weekend. A lengthier bullpen session could come Saturday if all is well following his bullpen on Wednesday. Signed to a two-year deal prior to the season, the 33-year-old owns a tidy 2.69 ERA across 19 starts for the Rangers despite seeing his K-BB% dip to 16.1%, his lowest mark since 2019. Nonetheless, Eovaldi's eventual return would give the Rangers a potentially lethal rotation alongside trade-deadline acquisitions Max Scherzer and Jordan Montgomery.
