Nathan Eovaldi Mediocre In Rain-Shortened Start
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starter Nathan Eovaldi allowed three runs on three hits in two innings of work during Friday's 6-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox. Eovaldi was pulled from the game after two innings due to a lengthy rain delay that also chased White Sox starter Michael Kopech from the contest. After two strong outings to begin his Red Sox career, Eovaldi has been wholly ineffective in the games since. He has an astronomical 8.05 ERA in his last five outings, a stretch that has seen his season ERA balloon from 3.38 to 4.35. He also does not offer much strikeout upside as he only has 12 K's in that same timeframe. Due to the shortness of his last outing, Eovaldi will be taking the mound again on Monday against the Atlanta Braves. He is a definite sit for that contest.
