Nathan Eovaldi Looks Solid In Loss To Orioles
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi looked solid despite taking the loss on Friday, allowing one run while striking out four in 5 1/3 innings. The only run Eovaldi allowed came around to score after his exit, as Pedro Severino hit a leadoff single off Eovaldi to start the sixth inning, and then later scored on a double off reliever Matt Andriese. Eovaldi looked much better Friday than he had this spring, where he posted a 6.60 ERA in 15 innings of work. Managers should expect Eovaldi to have a similar performance this year to his 2020 campaign, in which he posted a 3.72 ERA with a 26.1 percent strikeout rate.
