Nathan Eovaldi Earns First Win Of Season
5 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi earned his first win of 2019 against the Indians on Wednesday after working two scoreless innings, while allowing just one hit and striking out two. The 29-year-old has been solid over his past three outings, not allowing a run over 3 2/3 innings with a 3/0 K/BB. Eovaldi never registered a win in the four starts he made to begin the year, before landing on the injured list until mid-July. Rumors swirled that Eovaldi was supposed to take over as closer when he returned, but it seems that manager Alex Cora wants him to get more comfortable pitching in relief before he gets more high-leverage opportunities. For fantasy purposes, you can steer clear until he carves out a more defined role.
