Nate Lowe Hitting A Cold Patch In May
4 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe was one of the big surprise stories of the first month of the 2021 MLB season. He slashed .277/.360/.485 with six home runs and 22 RBI in April. Unfortunately, he's started to come down to earth in May. He has just one home run this month, which came against the Seattle Mariners on May 7. He's gone just 1-for-26 over his past eight games. It was unlikely that he was going to keep up with the gaudy numbers he put together in April. But at the same time, his sturdy peripheral stats suggest that his current cold stretch shouldn't last too much longer. Lowe has a max exit velocity of 113.9 mph on the year to go along with strong plate discipline numbers (13.3% walk rate, 20% chase rate). Expect for him to be a borderline top-10 first baseman the rest of the way this year.
