Nate Jones Picks Up First Save
7 years agoWith Chicago White Sox closer Joakim Soria serving up four runs (three earned) in his last save opportunity, manager Rick Renteria went with reliever Nate Jones in the ninth inning on Wednesday. Jones allowed a walk but struck out two batters to secure the win versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Jones has more upside than Soria, but it is unclear at the moment if he has secured the job or if the White Sox will rotate between Soria and Jones as Renteria mentioned they would do prior to the start of the season. Jones is worth a speculative pickup if he's available and should be owned by all Soria owners until the situation gets figured out.
