Nabil Crismatt To Start Grapefruit League Opener
17 seconds agoThe Philadelphia Phillies plan to start right-handed relief pitcher Nabil Crismatt in their Grapefruit League opener on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers. Right-hander Tyler Phillips will get the ball for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles, while left-hander Cristopher Sanchez will start on Monday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Crismatt, 30, signed a minor-league deal with Philadelphia back on Dec. 13. He is merely competing for an Opening Day bullpen spot with the Phillies in spring training after spending most of last year pitching at Triple-A for three different teams. Crismatt had a bloated 5.81 ERA with 75 strikeouts and 28 walks in 79 innings pitched and is nowhere near the fantasy radar. The Colombian hurler has a career 3.71 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in five major-league seasons since debuting in 2020 with the St. Louis Cardinals.
