Multiple Teams Believe Ezekiel Elliott Has Lost A Step
2 years agoLong-time Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was released by the team after his 2022 campaign, and the market for the 27-year-old Ohio State product is reportedly slim. Elliott rushed 231 times for 876 yards and 12 touchdowns last season for Dallas, but his 3.8 yards per carry marked a career low through his first seven NFL seasons. Teammate Tony Pollard rushed for 1,007 yards and averaged 5.2 yards per carry and was clearly the more efficient and explosive Cowboys' running back. According to ESPN's Kimberley A. Martin, "The market that Zeke wants just may not be there," and multiple franchises believe Elliott's best days are behind him. He may be on a roster next season, but he'll likely have to accept a cheap, one-year deal and will be a committee and short-yardage back moving forward.
