MRI Shows Fernando Tatis Jr. Is Healing
4 months agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (quadriceps) had an MRI exam this week that showed the progress in healing that the Padres were hoping for. Tatis can now continue to incrementally increase his baseball activity and has already started playing catch and swinging a bat. The 25-year-old All-Star is trying to recover from a femoral stress reaction in his right quad. Currently, there is no timetable for his return to the Padres lineup, and fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he doesn't return until August. Running full speed will be the last obstacle that Tatis must clear before he's reinstated from the injured list, and it's unclear if he'll require a minor-league rehab assignment before coming back. Obviously, Tatis is a must-stash player in all fantasy formats. Until he returns, Bryce Johnson and David Peralta will continue to form a platoon in right field for the Friars.
