Moritz Seider Sets New Red Wings Record With Another Assist
3 years agoDetroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider became a history-maker on Tuesday against Carolina, setting a franchise record for the longest assist streak by a rookie defenseman. He picked up a power-play helper on Lucas Raymond's game-winning goal in overtime, and Seider now has at least one assist in seven consecutive appearances. Reed Larson previously held the record from December of 1977 with a six-game streak. The German blue-liner has tallied 35 assists and 40 points in total this season, which puts him fourth in rookie scoring. Raymond leads the pack with 43 points, but Seider might soon take over the top spot if he manages to maintain his current hot streak.
