5 years agoCarolina Hurricanes center Morgan Geekie had an extraordinary NHL debut on Sunday, finishing a 6-2 win over Pittsburgh with three points. It took less than 10 minutes for the 21-year-old to get his first career goal and he also finished off the scoring in the game, adding an assist on a Jaccob Slavin goal. Justin Williams had two markers to stretch his goal-scoring streak to four games. Geekie is a former third-round pick, who notched 22 goals and 42 points in 55 games in the AHL before earning a promotion to the big league. He played just a little over 10 minutes, but also managed to record four blocks, two shots, two penalty minutes and one hit.
