Moises Ballesteros Hits 15th Home Run On Wednesday
Moises Ballesteros went 1-for-2 with a solo home run on Wednesday for Triple-A Iowa. The 20-year-old is more than holding his own at Triple-A after beginning the season at Double-A and blasting nine home runs there. In 35 games at Triple-A, the Venezuelan owns a .274/.324/.467 slashline with eight doubles and six home runs. The diminutive backstop has shown he can handle pitchers at every level while being younger than most at his level and is doing everything he can to earn a shot at the big leagues. Cubs backup catcher Christian Bethancourt has caught fire recently so might be able to hold him off for the time being, but we'll see how long that lasts. Dynasty managers and redraft managers should be keeping a close eye on Ballesteros as he could make an impact on offense down the stretch were he to get the call.

Moises Ballesteros With A Pair Of Multi-Hit Games Over The Weekend
Moises Ballesteros went 2-for-4 on Sunday for Triple-A Iowa, giving him back-to-back multi-hit efforts as he continues to maintain a superb .368/.420/.522 slash line at the highest level of the minors. There still isn't a path to at-bats in the majors for the 5-foot-8 backstop, but his bat keeps pushing for a big league debut, which is currently estimated to happen sometime in June. When that happens, if the left-handed slugger can find regular ABs then he could prove to be a viable fantasy asset, not only because of his offensive prowess, but because he would be doing so in a potent Cubs offense. He could become one of the top prospect stashes the closer it gets to June, especially in NL-only and two-catcher leagues, so make sure to stay on top of any updates in that regard.

Moises Ballesteros Not Slowing Down At Triple-A
Moises Ballesteros has continued to swing a hot bat at Triple-A and is making a strong case for an early-season MLB debut. The 21-year-old saw his incredible 19-game hitting streak come to an end on May 4 when he went 0-for-3 with a walk. During his impressive hitting streak, the backstop posted a .447/.500/.671 slash line with five doubles and four long balls. He only struck out four times over this 21-game stretch. Through his first 28 games of the Triple-A regular season, the No.4-ranked prospect in the Cubs system has held a stellar .381/.437/.566 slash line with seven doubles, four home runs, and a 13:11 K:BB. Even though the Cubs do not have a clear spot for him on the MLB roster, with Carson Kelly swinging a hot bat behind the dish and Seiya Suzuki serving as the everyday DH, fantasy managers in deeper formats should consider stashing him as he could receive the call in the coming weeks.

Moises Ballesteros Hits Two Home Runs, Extends Hit Streak To 16 Games
Moises Ballesteros is scorching-hot at the plate, blasting two home runs in a 2-for-5 day at the plate on Wednesday for Triple-A Iowa while recording three RBI and two runs scored in the process. The home runs extended his current hit streak to 16 games, with 10 of those going down as multi-hit performances, and the 21-year-old is hitting a sweltering .402 for the year along with an otherworldly 1.078 OPS. Ballesteros was seemingly white-hot all of last season as well, but he never got the call, and there isn't much more he can prove at the plate, so it looks like he's out to force his way onto the major-league roster. If you've been stashing him, continue to do so, because the call could come any time now.

Moises Ballesteros Now The Triple-A Batting Average Leader
Moises Ballesteros came into this past weekend hitting .377, but as high as that was, he managed to raise his batting average 37 points to .414 by the time Sunday's games were over. The 21-year-old went 7-for-10 over the weekend and walked more than he struck out (3:1 BB:K). The OPS now stands at a sizzling 1.061 with a .476 wOBA and 183 wRC+. The Venezuelan backstop now owns a 14-game hit streak, has hit safely in 18 of his last 19 games, and has recorded multiple hits in 12 of 22 contests. If it were any other team, Ballesteros would probably be in the majors, but both the Cubs' catchers, their first baseman, and their DH are all hitting well, so there isn't a path to at-bats at the moment. Still, it shouldn't be long until he gets the call, with RotoBaller estimating a June timeframe.
