Mohamed Sanu Has Unspectacular Day Sunday
6 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu did well with his opportunities on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. However, with just four targets on the day his opportunities were limited as the Falcons offense was unable to push the ball down field in this game. Sanu did also attempt a pass but he failed to connect with Julio Jones on the play. Sanu has had an up and down season but of the main three wide receivers he had the best catch rate in this game. Sanu caught three of his four targets for 37 yards, but with his failure to find the end zone it was a rather disappointing performance for those fantasy owners who did lean on Sanu in Week 13

Mohamed Sanu Signs With Dolphins
3 years agoVeteran free-agent wide receiver Mohamed Sanu is signing with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, according to his agent, Mike McCartney. Sanu joins a crowded receiver depth chart in Miami that includes Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Trent Sherfield, among others. The 32-year-old caught 15 of his 24 targets for 177 yards and no touchdowns in eight games for the San Francisco 49ers last year. Sanu's best season came back in 2018 with the Atlanta Falcons, when he caught 66 passes for 838 yards and four touchdowns in 16 starts. He'll function as receiver insurance in Miami and won't be on the fantasy radar unless several injuries at the position open up playing time for him.

Mohamed Sanu Activated from Injured Reserve
3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers have activated Mohamed Sanu from the injured reserve ahead of this weekend's NFC Championship game. However, this does not mean Sanu will slide right back into his old role. Jauan Jennings has come on for the 49ers over the last few weeks and has proven to be a solid chain-mover for Jimmy Garoppolo. If Sanu is active on gameday, he would likely be used as a sure-handed option on third downs or near the red zone, but I wouldn't expect him to be anything more than the WR4 on the team and fifth receiving option overall, which makes him just a DFS dart throw if you're playing single-game showdowns.

JaMycal Hasty, Mohamed Sanu Miss Practice
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back JaMycal Hasty (ankle) and wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (knee) both missed practice on Thursday. Hasty played 33.9% of the offensive snaps in the Week 9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, carrying the ball just one for a two-yard gain while catching three of his four targets for 11 yards. Even if he's available to play on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams, Jeff Wilson Jr. figures to serve as the third-down back behind rookie starter Elijah Mitchell. That will likely leave just scraps for Hasty, if he's active. If Sanu is forced to miss time, Trent Sherfield, Jauan Jennings and Travis Benjamin will battle for snaps behind Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. Sanu has 15 catches for 177 scoreless yards in eight games played this year.

Mohamed Sanu Sr. Surpasses 50 Receiving Yards In Week 8 Win
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu Sr. caught three of four targets for 59 yards in a 33-22 Week 8 win over the Chicago Bears. The veteran wideout saw his usage increase in Week 8, with Jimmy Garoppolo targeting Sanu at the third-highest rate across the entire offense. Sanu holds deep-league Flex appeal in PPR formats but is primarily a bench stash, if anything, at this point.
