Mohamed Sanu Back From Knee Injury
5 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (knee) was held out of practice earlier in the week but returned to play in Thursday's preseason loss to the Jets. He finished that game without a catch on only one target. With the emergence of receiver Calvin Ridley and tight end Austin Hooper alongside veteran Julio Jones, Sanu has become the forgotten man in Atlanta's high-powered offense. The return of running back Devonta Freeman is also bad news for the 29-year-old, who had 66 grabs for 838 yards and four touchdowns in 2018. His 66 receptions were one short of his career high, and his yardage total was a career high. He's still not a bad late-round flier in this offense, but Sanu's targets are likely to be fewer and further between than his last three years in Atlanta.
