MLB Season Won't Start On April 9
5 years agoMajor League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred announced on Monday that the regular season will not start on April 9. Owners are still hopeful that there will be a full schedule of games in 2020. Teams are limiting informal workouts but aren't locking spring camps in response to the coronavirus pandemic. It's unknown when exactly the season will begin, but it's possible that it won't start until sometime in late May or early June at this point, which would make it impossible to get in a full season's worth of games. Fantasy owners and the rest of baseball are in a holding pattern as of now. Injured players are benefiting the most, as players like Chris Sale (elbow) might not have to miss any games after all.
