MLB Players Refuse To Take Another Pay Cut
4 years agoThe executive council/player representatives remained steadfast in turning down any further salary reductions during an MLB Players Union board meeting on Thursday. "The league’s demand for additional concessions was resoundingly rejected," MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said. The players' proposal of a 114-game regular season was rejected by MLB owners, who prefer to play fewer games if a 2020 season actually takes place. The owners are also adamant that they do not want a postseason to stretch into November for fear that a second wave of COVID-19 would result in additional revenue losses. If a season does happen, it might be as short as 50 games. Stay tuned.
