MLB Closing All Spring Training Sites
4 years agoMajor League Baseball will close all of their spring training sites in Arizona and Florida for deep cleaning and will not allow players or staff members back in until they pass a COVID-19 test. This comes after the Phillies, Blue Jays, Giants and Rangers shut down their spring training facilities earlier in the day due to either positive COVID-19 tests among players or staff or players or staff showing symptoms. It's not what baseball needs at a time when the bickering back in forth during negotiations between the league and players union continues. Even if the two sides agree or if a 50-game season is implemented by the commissioner, a second waive of the coronavirus threatens to wipe out a potential 2020 season altogether.
