Mito Pereira heads to Augusta for his first Masters as an interesting option. Pereira's current play is flying under the radar as he has been playing as part of the LIV Golf League. Mito enters with two straight top ten finishes at LIV Orlando and LIV Tucson. In addition to LIV finishes, Pereira finished T6 at the Saudi International in January and followed it up with a T11 at the International Series in Oman. As a debutant, he is highly unlikely to contend to win the event. However, he could be a compelling draft kings play or finishing position bet.

Just surviving to make the cut last week at the St. Jude helped Mito Pereira. The Chilean golfer managed to shoot under par over the weekend and wound up 42nd. It was not the greatest result but an effective one. This is because Pereira missed five straight cuts leading up to the tournament at TPC Southwind. The course at Wilmington Country Club might set up decently for Pereira. He is a long way down in the odds at +10000. However, he can show up in big spots and nearly challenged for the PGA Championship. Anything is possible.

After four straight missed cuts, Mito Pereira is just trying to find his game this week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Pereira had been missing shots and putts left and right over the previous four tournaments. In the two tournaments overseas, the Chilean golfer blew up in Scotland with an 81 then went +5 on an easier St. Andrews course for The Open. It just begs the question of what can Pereira do to survive into the weekend. For one, his putting has been in the bottom half over the last month dropping him to 95th in strokes gained (0.063). Pereira faces an uphill battle to turn the switch on in time.

Mito Pereira picked the wrong time to start missing shots and putts. The Chilean golfer has missed three consecutive cuts and worse, fired an 81 at the Scottish Open last week. Around the green, he has been average but he was far into the negative range the last three tournaments. Can he find better form at St. Andrews where one is rewarded if they drive the ball longer? Pereira drives an average of 303 yards but again his 3.72 birdie per round number ranks just 100th on tour. It does feel like too many things are stacked against him for this week.
