Mitch Keller Implodes Again Monday Night Against Reds
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting Mitch Keller had a rough night on the mound on Monday, as he allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings in a 14-1 loss to the Reds. Coming off his best start of the season in which he tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings against the Padres, Keller looked more like how he did in the month of April where he went 1-3 with an 8.20 ERA and 1.98 WHIP over five starts. His outing against San Diego looked like it could be a sign he was finally putting things together, but after Monday night it looks like that was a mirage rather than an indicator of future success. For now, managers can continue to ignore Keller in all formats.
