Mitch Haniger Uncertain For Opening Day
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mitch Haniger (oblique) may not be ready for Opening Day, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. Haniger suffered a Grade 1 oblique strain on Friday during an at-bat. The 32-year-old has had an injury-plagued career, and this is the latest setback for him. He was signed by the Giants this offseason after an injury-abbreviated 2022 with the Seattle Mariners. Haniger hit .246/.308/.429 with 11 home runs over 247 plate appearances last season. He was set to be the Giants' right fielder in 2023. RotoBaller has him ranked as the 171st player, but another injury could hurt that ranking in the future.
