Mitch Haniger Could Be Activated Wednesday
3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (illness) was reportedly "going through the motions" to return from the COVID-19 injured list on Tuesday, per interim manager Kristopher Negrón. It was reported that Haniger could be activated on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, but the decision hasn't yet been set in stone. Managers in daily formats should monitor the news as it develops. Haniger has struggled to start the year, slashing just .176/.200/.471 with three home runs, seven RBI, and three runs scored over eight games. He is coming off an excellent 2021 campaign in which he belted 39 HR to go with 100 RBI and a .253/.318/.485 slash line. Once Haniger is cleared to return and gets his bat going, he is a must-start outfield option in all formats.
