Mitch Garver Ramping Up Action
2 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Mitch Garver (forearm) is ramping up action behind the plate as the season inches closer. Garver is coming off a season-ending forearm surgery last July. He is currently blocked by Jonah Heim who is expected to be the primary backstop this season. Although, the 32-year-old will get many chances once he is completely healthy. Garver made just 215 plate appearances last season, in which he slashed .207/.298/.404 with 10 home runs. Considering his history as an injury-prone player, the Rangers should be cautious with how they utilize him. He hasn't played in over 100 games since 2018, which certainly raises concerns for fantasy managers.
