Mitch Garver Goes Yard
3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk in Friday's loss to the Kansas City Royals. Garver's home run was a no-doubter, traveling 424 feet at an exit velocity of 109.8 MPH. The veteran backstop is on fire at the dish lately, as he's riding a seven-game hitting streak with a .400 batting average, six extra-base hits, and four RBI's during that span. Garver now has eight home runs on the season, and his .517 expected slugging percentage matches up nicely with his actual .509 mark. He should continue to be one of the better sources of power at the catcher spot, albeit with a low batting average.
