Mitch Garver Expected To Be Activated For Night Game
3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver (groin) is likely to be activated for the second game of the doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox, per Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com. Garver has been sidelined since June 1 after undergoing surgery to repair a groin injury he sustained on a foul tip. He was a serviceable fantasy backstop before going down with the injury, posting a .833 OPS with eight home runs in 116 at-bats while placing seventh among catchers in barrels per plate appearance. Benjamin Rortvedt seems destined to be sent down to the minors if the Twins do indeed activate Garver. The latter's return will mean fewer at-bats for Ryan Jeffers, who initially benefitted from Garver's injury.
