Mitch Garver Drives In A Pair Of Runs
4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver went 2-for-4 with a two-run double in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Angels. Garver tied the game in the top of the sixth with a two-run double, then scored on a Josh Donaldson RBI single to give the Twins the lead. The veteran backstop came to the plate in the ninth inning with the bases loaded and a chance to do more damage, though he ended up striking out. Still, Garver has looked better than he did last season, as he's shaved nearly nine percentage points off his strikeout rate- and has a similar batted ball profile to his breakout 2019 season. He already has as many barrels as he did in the 2020 season, so he certainly seems to be on his way towards a rebound year.
