Mitch Garver Drives In A Pair Of Runs Monday
4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver drove in a pair of runs in Monday's victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Garver came up with a key, two-run double in the eighth inning that gave the Twins a 5-3 lead, extending his hitting streak to five games in the process. The veteran backstop is 5-for-14 with five walks, four runs scored, three RBIs, a pair of doubles, and a home run during his recent hot stretch, which has raised his batting average and OPS to .212 and .761, respectively. While the batting average and strikeout totals certainly hurt, Garver remains one of the better power options at the catcher spot, as his seven home runs rank him sixth amongst his peers at the position.
