Miles Mikolas Will Work From The Alternate Site
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (shoulder) will report to the alternate training site once the team breaks camp. Before that, he is expected to throw one more bullpen session before camp ends. Mikolas hasn't pitched since the 2019 season, missing all of 2020 with a flexor tendon strain. There were thoughts that he might need Tommy John Surgery, but it seems he's been able to recover from the elbow issue enough. The reason for his missed time this spring is actually a shoulder injury, although that could of course be related. Still, the team seems optimistic that Mikolas will be able to pitch in the starting rotation sometime sooner than later.
