Miles Mikolas Throws a Shutout on Monday Night
5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas threw a shutout on Monday, going all nine innings while allowing eight hits. He didn't issue a walk and struck out three. Mikolas needed an even 100 pitches, just missing a Maddux by one pitch. It wasn't the most masterful shutout of the season, but it was still a strong performance by Mikolas, who improved to 6-9 and lowered his ERA to 4.15. He's not the pitcher he was last season, but this start was a good sign for Mikolas potentially being a valuable piece in the second half.
