Mike Yastrzemski Sitting Out On Friday
5 months agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski (elbow) is out of the team's starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the hosting Cleveland Guardians. Yastrzemski was hit by a pitch on his elbow in the Fourth of July game on Thursday. However, X-rays came back negative, so the 33-year-old left-handed hitter should be considered day-to-day for now. Check back to see if he rejoins the starting lineup of the second game of the series on Saturday. With Yaz sidelined, Michael Conforto, Heliot Ramos and Luis Matos will start across the outfield for the Giants from left to right, respectively, against Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee. When healthy, Yastrzemski can provide modest power for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues against right-handed pitching. He's currently sporting a .722 OPS with seven homers and 28 RBI in 195 at-bats on the year.
