Mike Yastrzemski Riding Five-Game Hitting Streak
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski went 1-for-4 and scored a run in the team's 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. Yastrzemski now has hits in five consecutive games. Over the five-game stretch, he's hit three doubles while tallying three RBI and four runs. It's certainly been a slow start to the year for Yastrzemski, who is slashing .222/.325/.465 with six home runs, 13 doubles, 14 RBI and 22 runs over 40 games on the year. Unfortunately, his underlying stats don't paint a pretty picture of things to come. He has an xBA of .204 and a career-low average launch angle of 13.3 degrees, down from 18.4 degrees last year. Fantasy managers in shallow leagues can consider cutting bait with him if there's a hot name on the waiver wire. Deep league managers should try and deal him soon in case his value continues to drop.
