Mike Williams Won’t Practice This Week
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (hip) won't participate in practice this week, per head coach Brandon Staley. He exited last Wednesday's practice with a hip flexor and has been unable to practice since. The 26-year-old is not expected to suit up for the next preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers. Williams is considered day-to-day. The Chargers reportedly are not expected to extend Williams, who is playing 2021 under his fifth-year option. He hauled in 48 receptions on 85 targets for 745 yards and five touchdowns across 15 games in 2020. The former Clemson Tiger has been inconsistent through his NFL career but could finally break out as the team's WR2 behind Keenan Allen. Williams averaged 14.5 air yards per target and had 15% of the team target percentage last season. The Chargers wideout has upside and could smash his ADP of 110.41 in upcoming fantasy drafts. Williams is currently being selected as WR46 in NFFC leagues.
