Mike Trout Wants To Return This Season
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (hand) told reporters on Friday that he'd like to return to action this season. The 32-year-old rejoined the team on Tuesday after missing nearly two months after undergoing hamate bone surgery. His return did not go well, however, as he felt a lot of pain in his left hand during his plate appearances. The Angels subsequently placed Trout back on the injured list on Friday but he still has some optimism that he could return this season. "I'm just going to make sure it's fully healed before I get back out there," he told reporters. Trout's initial timeline after he underwent surgery in early July was four to eight weeks and Tuesday's return was just a day under the seven-week mark. It sounds like he didn't suffer a setback and is just dealing with soreness but the veteran outfielder won't rush into things. It remains to be seen when he'll be back out there in what is yet another lost season for the Angels.
