Mike Trout Golfs Three-Run Homer Monday
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout was ready to represent Team USA in Monday's 12-1 World Baseball Classic win over Team Canada, going 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and two walks. Trout lined a low first-inning fastball just over the center-field fence to put Team USA ahead 9-0. The 31-year-old traded average for power in 2022, slashing .283/.369/.630 with 40 HR and 80 RBI in 499 plate appearances. Trout still remains one of baseball's best hitters, but injuries have limited his overall fantasy value over the past several seasons. He clearly is one of fantasy baseball's best options on an at-bat-by-at-bat appearance, but questions on his total playing time have dropped his average draft position to 20th overall. Despite this, Trout is still a strong early draft option in a relatively shallow position.
