Mike Tauchman Earns Final Yankees Roster Spot
6 years agoJust a day after being acquired from the Colorado Rockies, outfielder Mike Tauchman earned the final roster spot on the New York Yankees for Opening Day. The club made the move for the outfielder as Aaron Hicks will begin the season on the injured list, with Tauchman beating out Tyler Wade for the spot. The 28-year-old has spent much of his career in the minor leagues, hitting .304 in 606 career minor-league games. In the majors, however, he has failed to replicate that success, hitting just .153 in 52 games. Tauchman will be the club's fourth outfielder behind Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner and Giancarlo Stanton as the aforementioned Hicks recovers from injury.
