Mike Smith Records 38th Career Shutout On Thursday
6 years agoCalgary Flames goaltender Mike Smith played a perfect game on Thursday against Minnesota, stopping all 31 shots in a 2-0 win to record his 38th career shutout. Smith was horrible at the start of the season, especially on home ice, but he's gotten his act together in recent weeks with his last loss coming on Nov. 15. He's now got two shutouts for the season and he boasts a solid 10-7-1 record. Smith's goals-against average (2.93) and save percentage (.892) still need some improvement, but he's trending up big time and should get his numbers sorted out soon.
