Mike Reilly To Undergo Heart Procedure On Tuesday
4 months agoNew York Islanders defenseman Mike Reilly is scheduled for a heart procedure on Tuesday and will be out indefinitely. Reilly has missed seven games because of a concussion, and his heart condition was discovered during concussion testing. The 31-year-old is expected to continue his career following the procedure, but Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello said on Monday that Reilly could be out for "several months." Reilly has made 11 appearances this season, failing to score a point. The Islanders have also missed Adam Pelech (upper body) and Alexander Romanov (upper body) from defense lately, but the latter might be back on Tuesday versus Calgary. Romanov is regarded as a game-time decision for the contest.

Mike Reilly Remains A Healthy Scratch For Montreal's Visit
3 years agoBoston Bruins defenseman Mike Reilly will be a healthy scratch for a second consecutive game on Sunday against Montreal. He was replaced in the lineup by Jakub Zboril in Saturday's 5-2 win over New Jersey and is forced to sit in the press box again, with head coach Bruce Cassidy demanding more from the 28-year-old. "He has to work to get back on pucks and be clean on the breakout," Cassidy said after Sunday's morning skate. Reilly recently had a two-point performance against Detroit but sits on only three points for the season in 11 games. He'll get plenty of time to work on his game next week, as the Bruins won't be in action until visiting Philadelphia on Saturday.
